Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals

Marking life's most important moments with faith, love, and the support of your church family.

Baptisms and Christenings

Celebrating new life

Baptism is a wonderful celebration of new life and God's love and marks a coming to faith in Jesus Christ and being welcomed into the church family. Whether you'd like your child christened or you're an adult considering baptism for yourself, we'd love to walk that journey with you.

Baptisms often take place during our Sunday morning service so the whole church family can share in the celebration and welcome the newly baptised.

Baptism and christening refer to the same thing. The term 'christening' is typically used to refer to a child being brought to baptism (usually by their parents). Baptism is used when referring to someone making their own decision to be baptised.

Getting married in church is a beautiful way to begin your life together, making your vows before God and in the presence of those you love. We offer a welcoming, personal service to help you plan your special day. Even if you're not a regular churchgoer, you may still be eligible to marry at Ascension Church.
