I'm New
(In which case, you're very welcome)
We are very blessed to meet and worship in a modern church building
with effective heating, comfortable seating and level, disabled-accessible floors.

If you would like to explore with us, then you will always find a warm welcome.
FAQs?
What can I expect at an Ascension Church service?
First of all, you can look forward to a warm welcome.
We don't use service books; the words for the service and the songs will appear on screens, so please don't feel you've been missed out when no one gives you a service book.
Simply find yourself a chair. You are welcome to any seat; none of the chairs are reserved. People don't have their own exclusive seats, so there is no danger of sitting in someone's chair.
If the service is a communion service, then anyone from any Christian denomination is welcome to receive communion. If you are not sure what communion is, then we would love to explain about communion. That might be something you'd want to find out about for yourself. For now, as people come forward to receive communion you'd be very welcome to come forward too for a prayer of blessing.
Tea, coffee and cake are served after the service in the adjoining Ashenground Community Centre hall, where there will be plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.
Toilet facilities are available through the doors at the back of church in the adjoining Ashenground Community Centre.

What happens for children at church?
First of all, children are especially welcome. It's their church too. We welcome children of all ages, and no one will fuss or complain if they make noise.
For very young children and their parents, there is a carpeted creche area at the back of the church with toys and books available for children to enjoy. However, there is no obligation for children to be in the creche, it's there to use if it helps children and their parents and carers.

We include content for children in our 10.00am Sunday Services

Can I easily get into the church if I use a wheelchair?
The inside of the church is flat and level, and there is plenty of room for wheelchairs.

There is a very small raised door threshold of about 2 inches at the external door nearest the church. However, there is also access into the church through the Community Centre door, which has a ramp and no door threshold.

There is also a disabled toilet.

Is there a dress code?

No. Absolutely not! Please just be yourself and come as you are.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all. You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

I have more questions. How can I get in touch and ask them?

Please feel free to contact us. If you want to know who's who in the church, check out our Ascension People page.
